Rare Ugandan Nilotica Shea Butter — 1 kg Bucket
A 1 kg food-grade bucket of 100% pure, unrefined Nilotica shea butter — wild-harvested in Uganda along the Nile basin. Naturally richer in oleic acid (~60–70%) than West African shea, it is softer, paler, and melts at skin temperature. Suited for direct use, professional formulation, and bulk household needs. One kilo replaces roughly eight standard 125 ml jars.

Botanical name
Vitellaria nilotica — distinct East African species, not the West African Vitellaria paradoxa.
Origin
Wild-harvested in Uganda (Nile basin). Quality-controlled and packed in Toulouse, France.
Texture & colour
Soft, creamy, ivory to pale gold. Melts at ~30–35 °C. Colour and scent vary naturally between batches — a sign of genuine unrefined butter.

Direct skin & hair use
Warm between palms — melts to oil in seconds. Use on damp skin, hair ends, cuticles, lips, or dry patches. Absorbs without a greasy film.
Formulation notes
Melts fully at ~32 °C. Whips exceptionally well. Lowers melt point in anhydrous balms — raise wax ratio for warm climates. SAP value ~0.128 NaOH for cold process soap.
Storage & shelf life
Store below 25 °C, away from light. Shelf life ~18–24 months. If grainy after temperature fluctuation, melt to ~40 °C and cool quickly to restore texture.
