RainforestCosme is an independent brand based in Toulouse, France. We make one product: pure, unrefined Nilotica shea butter.

What Nilotica shea butter is

Nilotica shea butter comes from the East African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa subsp. nilotica), which grows wild in the Nile shea belt of northern Uganda. The fruit is gathered by hand once it has fallen, and the butter is cold-extracted — never refined, bleached or deodorised.

Compared with West African shea butter, Nilotica is naturally softer and creamier. It is rich in oleic acid (around 60–70 %) and melts at about 28–32 °C, so it softens on contact with the skin.

How every batch is checked

Every batch is analysed by a laboratory in Bordeaux (peroxide value, fatty-acid profile and purity), then quality-controlled and packed by us in Toulouse.

One ingredient

INCI: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter* — *Vitellaria paradoxa subsp. nilotica. No fragrance, no preservatives, no added oils, no water.

Every order ships from Toulouse within 24–48 hours. Delivery usually takes about 2 working days in France, 3–5 in the EU and 5–7 outside the EU.
